Chiropractic offers an effective form of therapy for the treatment of most injuries to your Nerves, Joints, Tendons, and Muscles (Neuromusculoskeletal System). We work with our patients to identify the trauma that has led to a specific injury, allowing us to plan effective treatment programs. We carefully evaluate every patient and use the body’s natural design to determine the best course of action.

Spinal/Joint Adjustments or Manipulation can be very effective in the treatment of injuries to your spine and other joints, however, the doctors at Glenora Chiropractic Clinic do not always adjust the spine or joints.

They may incorporate a variety of modalities such as:

  • Active Release Therapy
  • Graston Techniques
  • Exercises and Stretches
  • Laser Therapy
  • Radial Shockwave Therapy
  • Kinesiotape
  • Motor Nerve Stimulation or TENs

These along with other recommendations may be administered with full consideration of your needs and concerns.

Our team offers individualized physical therapy programs to treat various conditions. We start with a comprehensive assessment of each patient and then design an approach to heal the specific injury or condition. Our programs are able to help prepare patients for surgery and aid them in their recovery process. We also have long-term strategies for those living with chronic conditions.

Physical therapy is an effective way of promoting mobility, function, and rehabilitating damaged tissue.

We treat musculoskeletal pain, joint pain, deep tissue injuries, and various conditions including:

  • Arthritis and osteoarthritis
  • Ankle sprains and instabilities
  • Back and neck pain
  • Bursitis
  • Carpel tunnel syndrome
  • Gait and balance problems
  • Incontinence
  • Runners’ and sports injuries
  • Shoulder dislocations
  • Tendonitis
  • Women’s health issues

Our athletic programs focus on rehabilitation and injury prevention, using an exercise-based approach. This minimizes the risk of recurring injuries, giving athletes the best chance at returning to peak performance.

What is Massage Therapy?

Massage is one of the oldest natural healing therapies dating back nearly 4,000 years. Today, massage therapy combines the ancient art of massage with the modern sciences of anatomy physiology, and exercise physiology.

Massage Therapy is the assessment and planned treatment of the soft tissue and joints of the body. Therapists apply various manipulation and joint mobilization techniques to assist and enhance the body’s efforts to heal as well as relieve pain, increase flexibility and reduce headaches.

The therapeutic use of massage affects all systems of the body, most particularly circulatory (blood and lymph), muscular, endocrine and nervous systems. Massage therapy is also effective for stress relief, enhancing athletic performance, and facilitating health and wellness.

Benefits of Massage Therapy

Historical and current research document the diverse physiological effects of massage, many of which are due to the movement of the therapist’s hands over the body, physically stretching the muscles, encouraging circulation, inhibiting muscle spasm and sedating or stimulating the nerves to ease pain or promote function as necessary. Many effects are equally preventative in nature. When muscles are loose and circulation is sufficient, the result is better health and decreased risk of injury. Some other benefits include decreased stress, improved posture, decreased aggression and enhanced body awareness. Some physical and psychological effects are due to the release of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers.

Medical compression therapy consists of applying a type of elastic device, mainly on the limbs, to exert a controlled pressure on them. By compressing the limbs or other body regions, the medical compression device squeezes the vein walls together, thereby improving overall circulation and supporting blood flow back towards the heart.

In addition, it helps to reduce swelling and formation of edema in edematous tissues by reducing the capillary leakage into the tissue and supports the lymphatic drainage of interstitial fluid. Medical compression provides significant relief of leg aching, pain, the feeling of swelling and heaviness, and other venous and lymphatic symptoms.
